Term 1 Week 8

A huge thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to help at swimming over the last three weeks.  If you helped for one day or every day, it has all been deeply appreciated by our staff.

Yesterday after swimming the children asked "Can we lie down and be really still?.."  I know, it was a hard decision, but I agreed to this proposal.  We got out the blankets and cushions and lay down and watched Sesame Street for a while.

Today after lunch, we finished our rainbow birds.  We have been learning about changing colours.

 Colours can change when you mix them together.

We found out that…

Red and Yellow  =  Orange

Blue and Yellow = Green  

Red and Blue  =  Purple

We made these rainbow birds using only the colours red, blue and yellow.  We had to mix those to make new colours for our rainbow.

We mixed the colours using water colour pencils, then Nick from Room 7 came in and helped us to add the water to make the colours blend .
