We have been learning about change, and how it occurs everywhere. In the afternoons after swimming we have been learning about changing colours. We have experimented and found that red and yellow together makes orange, blue and yellow together make green, and blue and red together make purple. We have also briefly talked about life cycles, and the change that occurs during that time. Room 1 have been watching their caterpillar turn into a butterfly and Rooms 1 and 2 have been learning the life cycle of a butterfly, while focusing on 'The Hungry Caterpillar', by Eric Carle. They have been working hard using collage to help retell the story of the Hungry Caterpillar, and their artwork is now in the corridor.
In Room 2 we have also been closely watching a toy egg change. We added water to the egg and have been eagerly waiting for the egg to hatch.

We now have a little toy duck. The egg changed - it cracked, split and the duck inside got bigger and bigger. I wonder how big the duck will grow?
