A Prayer for Victims of the Christchurch Earthquake

We mourn the death and destruction in Christchurch, O Lord,
And we pray for those who died in this recent disaster.
May their souls rest in peace.
May their families be comforted.

We pray for the living survivors.
Be with them, Lord, in this traumatic time.
May they experience Your healing,
In their spirits as well as their bodies.

We pray for the communities affected.
May they come together in solidarity
To rebuild and to affirm new life
Amid the fallen stones.

Amen
 

We have had lots of chats about the Christchurch Earthquakes and we discussed that the money raised today will help the people who have lost their homes etc.  Thank you everybody for supporting us and sending in your donation. 

We have maintained our reading programme through swimming and done some numeracy when we've had the time, but from next week we will be back into the full swing of maths every day as well.  We will also start working hard on increasing our phonics knowledge and learning new sounds.

Today we started learning our Jesus strand of R.E.  We learned about Palestine, the country where Jesus lived, what the country is like and what kind of house Jesus would have lived in.  We looked at differences between our own houses and Jesus' house.  Next week we will be learning about the clothes that they wore and the kinds of things people had in their houses.
