Term 3 Week 4

Last week some of the children learned about skip counting in twos. We learned that this is a quick way of counting objects. The whole class learned about skip counting in tens as well. We looked at the 'ty' patterns and this helped us to count - 10, 20, 30, 40 etc. This week we have been learning about the hundreds board. We can use the number patterns on the board to help work out where a number is. For example, if we want to find the number 54 we can count down in tens until we get to the fifties, then count 4 across the line to find the number. OR we can count across 4 on the top line, then skip count in tens (14, 24, 34, 44, 54) down until we find 54.

One of our links on this page is the "Give a dog a bone" link. This is a game where the hundreds board is blanked out and you have to find the number shown on the board.
